drop-in dye day

10:00 AM10:00

drop-in dye day

where: 124 arlington street, winnipeg

when: june 2, 2018, 10am-4pm (come and go as you please)

cost: sliding scale, $5 and up

more details: i've had several requests from people interested in learning some of the basics about natural dyeing, but who aren't in a position to commit time-wise or financially to a full day of classes. so let's do this a little more casually!

drop-in dye day is exactly that - drop in and hang out with me and my pots! we'll get an indigo vat on the go and other pots on the burners. i won't do specific "teaching", but you can ask questions as we work. i have a large stack of yarn that needs to be dyed, and you're welcome to bring stuff with you (fibres need to be natural to take the dyes properly, and should be scoured prior to going into any pots/vats). if you have a large amount (more than 50g) of material/yarn you want to dye, please email me at ash.sunflowerknit@gmail.com to pre-arrange what dye stuff you want to use. you will be required to pay for that amount of dye stuff at a rate of $5/100g.

i'll have fresh kombucha available, and you're welcome to bring food to share if you plan on sticking around for a while.

please keep furry friends at home to avoid any potential accidents (indigo vats look like a big blue water bowl). please ensure that kiddos know how to be safe around stoves, hot plates, and boiling water.

hope you can make it!
